Emergency Medical Services, Eastern District (Metropole)
REQUIREMENTS : Minimum instructional qualification: Grade 3: Successful completion of the Intermediate Life
Support (ILS) that lets in registration with the HPCSA as Ambulance Emergency Assistant
(AEA).
Grade 4: Successful completion of the Emergency Care Technician (ECT) that approves
registration with the HPCSA as Emergency Care Technician (ECT). Grade 5: Successful
completion of the Critical Care Assistant route (CCA) or National Diploma that lets in
registration with the HPCSA as Paramedic.
EMS SHIFT jobs
Grade 6: Successful completion of the B-Tech
Degree that permits registration with the HPCSA as Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP).
Registration with a Professional Council: Grade 3: Registration with the Health Professions
Council of South Africa as an AEA. Grade 4: Registration with the Health Professions Council of
South Africa as an ECT.
Grade 5: Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as Paramedic. Grade 6: Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa
as an ECP. Experience: Grade 3: Minimum of three years’ journey inside your present day registration
category with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as Ambulance Emergency Assistant
(AEA).
Grade 4: Minimum of three years’ trip inside your contemporary registration class with
the Health Professions Council of South Africa as Emergency Care Technician (ECT). Grade 5:
Minimum of three years’ trip your modern-day registration class with the Health Professions
Council of South Africa as Paramedic. Grade 6: Minimum of three years’ trip your modern-day
registration class with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as Emergency Care
Practitioner (ECP). Inherent necessities of the job: Current registration with HPCSA as an AEA,
ECT, Paramedic or ECP. Valid Code C1 driver’s license. Current Professional driver’s permit.
EMS SHIFT jobs Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Good verbal exchange and interpersonal skills. Excellent
knowledge of all stages of Emergency Care protocols. Computer literacy in the MS Office
package. Report writing skills. Physically healthy and able.
DUTIES for EMS SHIFT jobs
Effective pre-hospital Emergency Medical Care and response to incidences when required.
Ensure fantastic supervision and renovation of Emergency Vehicles and tools in line with
the Financial and Fleet directives. Ensure superb document writing with regards to accident and
incident reports, loss and theft manage incidents and security incidents. Ensure advantageous
communication with regards to patients, colleagues, different offerings and contributors of the Public.
Supervise and control rostered shifts and personnel in line with People Management insurance policies
and practices. Provide an high quality administrative aid to the Supervisor when required.
